Are they legit?

The trust pilot reviews look ok, and I am very tempted by this:

http://www.e-infin.com/uk/item/2763/olympus_om-d_e-m1_16.3_mp_digital_camera_silver_body_only_em1

E-M1 for £440? What's the catch, I wonder?
No catch but not Olympus supplied UK goods. No Olympus warranty although you will get a warranty from E-infinity. You do need to check that these offers are genuinely coming from the UK because if the goods come from Hong Kong or anywhere else outside the UK you could end up with a hefty Customs/VAT charge. I think E-infinity are OK but don't quote me on it check with them by phone that the price you see is the price you pay.

If I was in the market I would be very tempted except that of all cameras on this forum more problems are reported with the EM-1 than anything else so you might want the warmth of a full Olympus warranty around you.

I am sorry but if they don't even show an address or other important details I wouldn't touch them. If the best contact details they can provide is an email address it would worry me, plus as mentioned if it did arrive you could be hit with VAT etc etc and send it back to goodness knows where for repair. No thanks - pass on this one.

Just checked their eBay rating and they have had 34 negative feedback in the last 12 months .They are also a HongKong setup so maybe not such a good idea as I first thought!!

If is the same as the Hong Kong seller, which uses exactly the same logo, they are great. I just got my 35-100 f:2.8 from them, and arrived in 2 days free shipping full FedEx. Great experience.

I'm in France not in the UK but bought a 15mm 1.7 through them (on ebay), everything went fine and didn't pay additional taxes, not sure I would go for it for a body though (warranty and all that)

Bought several lenses from them over the last few months at bargain prices. All arrived quickly and perfectly packaged. Never had a single issue and saved £100's over the regular UK dealer prices.

Cheers

I bought a olympus 7-14mm f/2.8 off of their eBay store. Extremely fast shipping to the US. I ordered on a Tuesday evening and it was at my door Thursday morning at 8am. The lens was/is perfect, no issues.

Their eBay listing shows:

"International Buyers - Please Note:

Import duties, taxes and charges are not included in the item price or shipping charges. These charges are the buyer's responsibility.

Please check with your country's customs office to determine what these additional costs will be prior to bidding/buying.

These charges are normally collected by the delivering freight (shipping) company or when you pick the item up - do not confuse them for additional shipment charges.

In case buyer rejects the item due to TAX / DUTY charges issue, we will charge the buyer back for ALL charges including both in & out shipping charges and the TAX / DUTY amount. We will reduce above charges and costs directly in the time we refund to you."

Lets be fair to businesses they had 3878 positive feedback. That's not an endorsement but I think facts like that above need to be considered in context

Well we all have our own ways of trusting but I for one would never buy from anyone with more than one neg in 12 months,
Hate to say it, but that's a really dumb attitude. For starters, some BUYERS are aholes, don't read the listings in the first place, get what was advertised, not what their feeble brains wanted, then complain and leave neg feedback anyway!

You've also got the postal service to contend with. Potentially nothing to do with the seller, things go missing or are late, so the seller ends up getting neg feedback.

So while its true that one needs to look at the negative ratings and comments, the blanket attitude of "I for one would never buy from anyone with more than one neg in 12 months" is just a daft way of looking at it. Everything is relative and you have to look at the whole picture. Most of these grey import companies such as e-infinity have over a 99% satisfaction rating.

Well for a start I am certainly not dumb, I am not telling anyone to follow what I do I simply said thats what I do when buying from eBay and it works for me , if you want to do it your way thats fine and up to you. You don't need to be so childish and insulting as to call me dumb just as I wouldn't call you and idiot for doing it your way, You don't have the sole right way of how to do shopping we all have our own methods so if that doesn't fall into the way you do it then tough!....and insulting someone just because they have different priorities from you simply makes you look an idiot. Just grow up.
I'm sorry if you feel offended. I realised after I'd posted it that the 'dumb' word could cause offence.

However after rethinking what was written by both yourself and I, I'm afraid the core meaning stands. By your logic, they could have sold a billion items with no problem and yet you would still reject them. Disregarding the total number of items sold with a positive rating and simply making a blanket statement of " I for one would never buy from anyone with more than one neg in 12 months" is indeed a dumb thing to say. So just because someone calls you on it, it simply makes you look like an idiot when you complain. Perhaps its time for you to grow up and accept what you wrote was ... well ... dumb!

Oh dear dear dear! The statement of " I for one would never buy from anyone with more than one neg in 12 months" is hardly a blanket for all, the clue is in the word "I" which is certainly not saying I think everyone should follow my example. So there you go again insulting me. Look I am finished with this childish conversation as I am sure others would like to help or inform the OP and I don't know how good that store is as I have never bought from them and if others have had a good/great experience then that is much more useful to the OP than you or I have done and none of my comments were to knock the store, in fact if you bothered to look at my first comments I said that they had very good reviews when I googled it and all I did was to state that he had 34 Neg feedbacks in 12 months when I looked at eBay. What the OP does with that info is entirely his decision, and all I did was to mention that I am always wary of sellers with any neg feedback but that is simply me so I am NOT telling anyone how to shop nor would, I just said what concerns me when I shop.

So insult me as much as makes you feel happy/big or what ever kick your getting from insults but I have finish with this conversation as in "my opinion" its hogging the OP thread and I for one apologise to the OP that these childish replies have taken place on his question. so no more from me whatever you which to insult me for.

To chippy99 I do apologise sorry.

Kind regards John

I would never do business with a company that I could not have direct contact with. I bought my E-M1 from hdew cameras who do obviously deal with grey imports, but they are based in the UK and ship from here, and also answer questions promptly. I got my camera and lens at am excellent price. And they provided a full VAT invoice. I want to give Jessops my custom as I firmly believe in proper shops, but there comes a time when you cannot turn down a bargain.

I just bought a Panasonic 15mm f1.7 lens from them (listing was on amazon.com). I'm in US and correspondence was via email (which is fine with me). I asked them about exchange and return policy and it's standard 14 days. Delivery(free shipping) to my home is Feb 22-27.

I'll report back when I get my lens.

Well, I bought a Panasonidc GM5+ kit lens from them last September and they were absolutely 1st Class. The going rate from UK sellers then was circa £450.00 & I paid £312.00! No issues, no import taxes and great service.

Highly reccommended - They were a class act; end of!
