Panasonic offers DFD and 4K video which can be used for action shots; extracting the better 8MP stills.
That is a very cool feature.
True But so is Live bulb, Live compositie. Both cameras got some nice features of their own.
Choosing E-M10 will give me in-body stabilisation. My perception is that I can choose from a broader range of lenses without losing stabilisation. This and its apparent better shuttter shock fix.
What is the fix? I thought they just inserted a delay (who wants that?) The G7 electronic shutter is a useful feature, and the FW update gives you an automatic electronic/mechanical switching mode.
I believe it's called 0 second delay. It supposedly eliminates SS. I suppose both Olympus and Panasonic got a solution or work-around for SS, but based upon user experiences which I read I felt more confident with Olympus. That's all.
Both winners?! Both more than sufficient for daddies with a hobby?
Both cameras have very satisfied users. Congratulations for handling both cameras in a store, the most important consideration I think.
Yes. It's very important. E-M10, E-M10 II, GX7, GX8, G7, GF7, GM1, GM5, Sony A6000. I handled quite a few cameras in a store over time. Most of them were Panasonic.
Not sure if it helps in terms of answering, but I am considering to buy a cheap tele lens and nice prime. For example the $99 M.Zuiko 40-150 R and a 17mm or 25mm prime.
The G7 + 14-140 is a very nice kit for convenient all-around photography.
True. As I got the camera with a 14-42mm lens, it made most sense to add a cheap 40-150mm. Will see how things work out. I may favour an all-round lens in the end in combination with a few primes. Mostly been using a prime so far.
