I don't have both of those cameras and I don't recall anyone having both of those cameras on this forum.  If anyone does, it would be enlightening to hear what they would say about it.  But I can tell you what I understand.

The Canon T5 (1200D) camera does not have dust sensor protection and the resolution of the LCD screen is very low. I wouldn't buy that camera for any price. One of the things I enjoy with my older 18mp Canon T2i/T3i (550D/600D) cameras is the relatively high resolution LCD screen since I chimp a lot. Once my Canon T3i (600D) camera removed a fairly large dust bunny (with the in-camera cleaning), so I didn't have to clean it manually or have it professionally cleaned.

The image quality of the Canon T5 (1200D) camera is close to the Canon SL1 (100D) camera. But there are many other reasons to not buy that entry level DSLR camera. I would suggest checking the reviews. The Canon SL1 (100D) camera is much better overall in my opinion.
