I'm happy with mine also.

For a much maligned lens, "my copy" produces very nice pictures.  When I originally purchased it I was not happy.  I put it on a 50D, a 40D, an SL1.  Not happy with any of the pictures from any of the three cameras.  I've been shooting with long zooms for a long time and understand how to make them work..at least as well as they can.

But...then I bought a 6D and everything changed.  It went from being sorry I put out so much money for...THIS..!  To wow, glad I got the 6D and 28-300L combination.  The color, the noise the "sharpness" control is VERY good.

I like to see in my pictures, what I see with my eyes.  Sharpness being the key thing.  While on my APS-C cameras, sharpness was horrible.  The color and noise control was nice, but the sharpness was not.  On the 6D (full frame), it's a whole different game now.  I enjoy looking at these shots.  The details are actually there.

My shooting is done around motorsports and airshows for the most part.  Changing lenses back and forth is not an option for me for several reasons, so all of my lenses for all my cameras (various brands) are this type of zoom.  A couple are very good, a couple good, most ok and a couple...well...should have saved the money..!  On the 6D, the Canon 28-300L has moved from the should have saved my money to...very good.
