Agree, but...

Anyone who buys high MP cameras and sharp lenses but does not pay attention to careful *end* display or print is a doofus and have no idea of how much MP or how sharp a lens they really need.

This is overstated. A quick scan through Facebook, Instagram shows that a really great photograph loses little of its impact by being 'mucked up' and resampled by a robot. But really great photographs aren't about sharpness and 'IQ'.
