At first I was very happy with my camera. After a bit of time I was looking for a new "challenge". Taking pictures in the studio and use a flash off-camera. That seems to be impossible. The camera doesn't reccognize there is something on the hotshoe. Contacted Samsung...not possible. The camera will only communicate with a samsung flash on the hotshoe and I don't want the flash on that place.

I had the NX20, and you can use a 3rd party off camera flash and trigger. See this post:

Somehow I think you're confused. A simple trigger and manual flash setup, such as those from Yongnuo, will work just fine for off-camera flash.

This is categorically false. I have used the NX20 with studio like conditions regularly with off camera flash.

It works perfectly fine.

I have Use Yongnou, Cactus and Pocketwizard Triggers all without issue.

Here are two examples of the NX20 using flash off camera, links provide posts with accessible EXIF data

the link brings me to a text where the nx1 is mentioned. it works on the nx 300 to but until this moment there's no communication between several sets. I go and try the set you mentioned. Thanks for reacting.

Realize that we are talking about fully manual flash here. If you already own a set of wireless flash triggers, then we should probably see what you're doing wrong with those rather than spending money on more of the same. Maybe you were trying to use to fast of a shutter speed? The NX cameras do not trigger the hotshoe if the shutter speed is set faster than the sync speed. Actually on older cameras this was annoying because the camera would only stop at 1/180 if a flash was detected, so for manual flash the fastest sync you could get was 1/160. The NX1 has a stop right at its 1/250 sync speed, which is nice.

Thanks for your answer. I checked once again. The flash goes off when I use the test button but not on my camera. Tried several shutter speed options.

Thanks for answering but I've checked again. But it only works when I use the test button but no communication when I'm using the camera.

An other problem occured. After using the test button when it was on the hotshoe my camera was not responding when I changed settings. I had to turn it off to reset.???

That sounds like something with your set up. It isn't the camera, as I said all the images I posted were shot with the NX20 with Off Camera flash and wireless triggers (cactus V5 triggers and Yongnuo flashes I've also used studio strobes with Pocket Wizards, and Canon Flashes with Yongnuo triggers when out with some friends)

What are the camera settings? what equipment are you using? What are the flash settings?

check you your shutter speed if you are in manual . if it is higher than 1/125 then it may not transmit. The triggers don't react. The camera is a great studio camera. I use the Youngo TX1 as the trigger. It is the best one to use with Samsung Cameras
