Precision of PEN-F comparisons using Camerasize templates
3

As I have just posted in another thread, I'm getting tired of semi-precise semi-not precise comparisons of the PEN-F size with Camerasize templates. Some people seem to think PEN-F is close to GX8 size! That's even before the huge protruding EVF eyecup on GX8 which is tiny on PEN-F.

For anyone interested, you can very simply do the same thing as I'm doing here in Photoshop [Elements] (or the free GIMP software), just zoom in on a screenshot of an Olympus E-P5 (for example) and overlay a PEN-F picture at say 50% opacity. Align the flanges precisely, judging by the size and location of the red dot, the bolts, and the inner flange diameter. Check your results by aligning the PEN-F picture over Panasonic cameras, you'll see that the inner shape of the flange will align.

Here's the actual size comparison

As you can see, it's very slightly larger than E-P5 and GX7, and significantly smaller than GX8, especially considering no protruding EVF in the rear.
