Here's how to use FlexiZone - Single to gain an advantage with MF

This may be a silly question, but how many enjoy reading their camera manual? When I got my SL1 I couldn't put down it's manual for a couple days. I just read it again; FlexiZone - Single Live View AF method sounds like a useful feature and I hadn't known about it until I read it again.
You could can use it to gain an advantage when focusing manually:
If you digitally zoom in with Live View to get a precise focus, you could use FlexiZone - Single to zoom in on your subject, then turn your AF off and focus.
How can I do this?
Tap the screen (with Touch Shutter turned off) to move your focus point over your subject. When pressing zoom, it will automatically zoom into that focus point (Single AF method only). Once desired zoom level is achieved, disable AF and begin manual focus operation.
