Hi, and sorry I have not followed up with the information. Right now I am out of town and don't have the camera with me so what I can tell you is that the whole thing is the PLX3 universal L-bracket. The photos on their site show actually two different base sections (and the actual part is different from both, as you can see by the pictures I took), they said they would update the photos but seems they did not yet. This is what causes the confusion and I wrote to them for clarification before I got it. They sent me pictures of the new version and I then decided to try it. And it works perfectly. As for the 70D vertical section, I don't have it yet, but if compatible it will be the best possible solution short of a dedicated L-bracket. I will get back to the subject upon my return next week, and also will take more detailed pictures of it.
