Using Fotodiox NX to EF unable to focus

Hi All,

I'm getting back in the photography saddle. I just purchased the NX1 knowing that it may be a dead system but I like the camera anyway. Even though it doesn't have the lens reach I need in native lenses my thought was that i could use an adapter to mount a 70-300mm lens and shoot video mostly and stills of my daughter in the Michigan Marching band. I happen to have access to some cannon kit lenses 55-250mm & 18-55mm both EF-S. I have the Fotodiox Pro EOS - NX adapter that I have tried to use but it seems that I'm unable to focus the 55-200m lens except in the 55-70mm range (and focus peaking works in that range), outside of that range the focus ring has no affect. It's  most likely it user error but I can't for the life of me figure it out. Can I not use the zoom with an adapter, if not that would be a deal breaker for me as I'm not sure 200mm is going to be enough zoom (using the 55-250mm on a Cannon 70D at the Citrus Bowl was just right.)  I really want to get the Cannon 70-300mm lens if I can get the focusing squared away.  I have a Samsung S lens on order but not the 50-150 as that's not enough focal length and the lens has to be 6 inches or less to get the camera into the stadium.  Any suggestions would be appreciated.
