My road to finally use hot hair blow dryer...

Thanks for your comments, Albert. I would be cautious about using a hair dryer, because the electronics in both the lens and body are very sensitive to heat, and there is no practical way to measure the internal temperature of those components from the outside.
I had similar concern in the first place as well.
When accident happened, handkerchief and tissue papers were used on site, then a lot of dry towels after returned hotel (a one week river cruise). When searching for a quickest way to remove any moisture inside, found a drawer directly on top of a mini fridge was quite warm inside. I sealed it tight with towels to build up the temperature inside (oven-like, very warm, far from baking hot). 2 days later, 7-14 f/4 worked again and on the 3 day, G1 was also alive.
Of course, if my gear would not be used, I used to clean and put them in air-tight sealed bag individually with a lot of silica gel. I might use electronic dehumidify cabinet soon if I would be happy with safety concern (24/7 power on!).
In last few years, upon my searching for something more efficient to replace the rocket blower (very tried after a few bodies and lenses cleaning), I pick a mini travel hair blower (now looking for an USB power model). Originally used its cold air blowing only like a can of compressed air. Gradually I tried the hot air after rainy day shooting and could see satisfactory result. Unless blowing with hot air constantly at a fixed spot for long time, my gear seems to be OK. Likely the heat built up inside our camera might be hotter than hot air blowing from outside for a few minutes.
That is why I prefer to use a sealed bag and desiccant material such as rice or dry packs. By the way, be sure to keep any desiccant materials in sealed bags until the moment of use; otherwise they will already have absorbed moisture from the atmosphere by the time you need them.
If I was not clear before, I still do not completely trust the 14-140 Mk 1 that went into salt water. I only use it as a backup for other lenses, and would never carry it as my only lens on even a short day hike. I am still unable to explain why it is still working at all. Surely, there is some salt remaining inside, that will still cause corrosion eventually.
