Re: Anyone use a lens diopter filter (for macro/close-up)?

So after looking around at accessories and different lenses, I think considering that the event I'm going to is just that--a one day event, and not a week-long seminar, I may just rent a macro lens (probably the Sigma or the Nikon 105mm macro). That way, for about the price of an average dinner, I can experiment with it, but not have to commit to buying one, or worse yet, risk buying something I may not end up using that much or buying one that doesn't meet the needs of what I want to do, etc.

While so may argue that this is a waste of money, I'd rather spend $20 for a day for a lens, then spend $1000 or $800 and find out the lens isn't really what i wanted.

I will try the diopter set I ordered for the 24-120mm, but I also realized that I will probably need extension tubes at some point as well, but at least with a rented macro/micro lens, I can see if it is an area of photography I want to start investing a lot a money into.,
