I actually think that Samsung somehow doesn't understand the philosophy of photography. They consider cameras like fridges or microwave owens. Like "who cares if this fridge is a crap. We'll make a new one. Or not. And even if we'll decide to take a break for a few years, we will still have a big name, so our next fridge will still be popular". And that is true if we're talking about fridges. But in camera world you have to be keep abreast of it.

You have to keep producing something: new cameras, new lenses, new flashes. They might not be perfect or best in class, but you have to do that and earn a trust and reputation of a stable photographic brand. That is what any photo enthusiast can tell you.

You just can't decide to stop it all, take a break and create absolutely new system every 5 years.

As for me, after Samsung's GX series and present NX state, I won't trust them anymore even if they'll make something really good in future with new system. I'll wait for at least 5 years, and then, maybe...

And that sir is the right attitude and decision.

I only have NX500 and 12-24 both purchased at fire sale.

I am amazed by the Samsung sensor vs what's on the market, and it's comparable to my main system (Sony) at a fraction of the price.

The price I paid for my Samsung gear is cheaper than a Sony UWA alone (i.e. FE16-35).

Would I have bought into NX at normal price? Not a chance. But I like what I got for the price I paid.

Today I can buy a brand new 45mm for $150 and a 85mm for $500, but I still say no to both as 1) Samsung disgusts me more and more by days and 2) anymore money I spend on the system is dead money.

I understand your attitude, but if the 45 gives you 10 photos, or years of use that you will be proud of, then they are not dead money. Dead money is if you lent some money to someone, and then he dies. That is dead money. Of course everyone is free to do as he pleases, but we don't have to be over negative about it. My FD lenses are much older than you (probably, they definitely are older than me, and my Takumars are older than the FDs!) and are still going strong in the digital era. You have to put things, and see life, in perspective.

Where do you buy a new 45mm for 150$? I consider buying a new one for 250$.

Anyways, whatever works really.
