You can stop video and jump from frame to frame ...

With the NX1 I find it easier to do it in-camera and the added bonus is that the exif detail is also saved, so you can find out exactly what shutter speed/aperture./iso was being used when the individual exposure was made. I don't think this is possible to do on a computer but I could be wrong.

Nice I need to play around and figure out how to do it in camera. I haven't explored this functionality yet.

I am doing it in MPC-HC too but EXIF does sound nice. How do you do it in camera, do you need to be in a special mode? Or is it as simple as pressing the shutter button during video recording.

You do it when playing the video back. Simply press pause and then fn captures the image and saves it as a new image. You can also use the jog wheel to scroll forward and backwards one frame at a time.

Thanks for the tip. So that means there's exif metadata being recorded for each frame and it's embedded in the data? If it's in the video file, there should also be desktop programs that can extract this exif metadata too, right? Of course Samsung has an in camera app for this but you'd think a desktop program could do it too. I can't think of a reason why the camera could extract the info but a third party program couldn't.

Does PowerDirector have the ability to do this? If so, I haven't figured it out.
