Personally I would not be without either lens. The 100-400 is fairly new to me. I used to use both of Canon's extenders on the 70-200 with good sucess.

Photgraphy being a hobby for me, I can't justify the large sums of money I have spent, but fortunatly over the years I have aquired some nice gear, no regrets.

We all have our vises/hobbies, you have got to spend your money somewhere!

If you think you will use it, buy it.

Hallo Tapeman!

Well yes, I want and would use both lenses, and even if it a lot of money, we can afford them. It is not a business decision. Putting desire contra real need, perhaps we are being to cold, logical and practical about it, and constrict ourselves too much.

We, mostly I do this for fun, mostly to document my family the best I can. Perhaps its better to just splash out the cash and have fun. Life is short, and our only son is already 13 years old.

Having fun is important.
