Pentax K50 Battery Life - Seems to be a Problem

I bought a K50 a few weeks ago. Nice camera, but the battery needs recharging for a second time after only 150 shots. Can't remember how many it managed the first time, about 50 perhaps, but I did spend a lot of time going through menus, setting things up and so on to start with. Having to charge it the first time did surprise me because I would have expected more from the battery on my Canon SX50, but maybe I spent so long playing with the settings.....

Anyway, this is how it has been used:

about 50% live view, at a guess.

the information screen whilst photographing through the viewfinder is still on and set to 'large' characters. I do change aperture, quite often, ISO, speed and exposure comp occasionally.

I may have tested the flash once to see if was working, but haven't used it otherwise.

Occasional (puzzled) rooting through menus.

HDR used twice

Raw used twice (should use it more often, I guess..)

Chimping - yes, with most (probably all, now that I think about it) I have taken, plus I occasionally look through the recent ones.

Downloading photos to computer - which of course uses some power. This has been done possibly up to 20 times. Not sure.

Can anyone advise if this seems about normal, what I may be doing wrong, is the battery duff etc? It just doesn't seem right, but maybe I'm doing something daft that is draining the battery.

Thanks

regards

Pete

*Edited to add:  I have not yet updated firmware, still on V1.00
