I deliberatley got up a little later this morning and instead of going to Kokopo to seek our the dawn, I walked in the opposite direction to Malapau to catch the sunrise with the bright light trail across the sea.

So here it is, taken just a couple of hours ago with the GX7 and the 12-32.

What a marvelous little lens!!! Where's the flare? (Clue: there ain't none.) Where's the shutter shock? (Clue, there ain't none, I shot with the electronic shutter, but whatever, this shutter speed would have been out of the zone.)

But where was Geoffrey's head as he balanced on a pile of garbage on the foreshore to get a little elevation? Forgot to check how the sun looked with very small apertures, didn't I?

Roll on the morrow!!!

The bright feature, the sun and its reflection on the water, caused about a 2EV under-exposure when I shop in "P" mode at normal EV. "Standard" mode. Sunlight WB to strengthen the pinks a bit. I brightened the pic by about 1EV in post, but apart from that this is what it looked like in paradise this morning. The palms are banana, by the way. Cooking bananas, one of our staples here. Taste a lot like potatoes.

The early bird finally got the worm!  Well worth your effort.

We had fried bananas with Mexican style pork shoulder recewntly.  Both dishes were very good and they went together very well.
