Re: Best companion for my GF1

Thank you for your long explanation! Today I was quite lucky and tried the GX7+14-42mm and made also some comparative shots with my GF1+PL15mm. I will tell only about the things that really are important for me. Viewfinder: of course it has much more resolution but it is not so bigger. In any case the basic viewfinder of the GF1 can be used for image composition. IQ: not a big difference, a lot of shots were almost with the same quality and in some cases my GF1 performed better. Ergonomics: I feel better with the GF1, I do not like that on the GX7 you have the main selector completely on the right, indeed you have to take off your hand from the camera to change such settings while on the GF1 you can rotate the selector while holding the camera. Moreover on the GF1 you have more physical buttons.

I tried also the EM5 (too small) and the GX8 (too big)

So I decided that it is not worth to upgrade from the GF1 with the above Pana camera and will go with the Fuji X100 to try the difference and discover the "other side of the coin". Of course I will keep my GF1 and will go on studying all its capabilities

As far as the fixed lens on the X100 I do not care very much. When I used to shot with my old Zenith I had only the 28mm and the 50mm. I know that with the additional lens on the X100 you can have a 28, 35 and 50mm equivalent.

On the GF1 instead now I have the PL15mm and the 14-45zoom. If the "test" with the X100 will fail I can always change it with a PL 25mm that I know is very good. I only hope the Panasonic/Lecia will make in the future also the 25mm with the manual aperture ring, it is such a pleasure to use on the 15mm.
