Pentax K50 vs Nikon D3300
Jan 7, 2016
Believe me or not, I spent the last two weeks seeing comparisons between these two cameras.
Almost every single "simulator" tells me that Nikon is a better value to the price (both are around 400€ on Amazon ES), but I'm not convinced that's true.
Thing is, I still haven't found a true comparison done by a real person. What I just want to know is that which one takes photos with better quality - my objective is simply to take "touristic photos" when visiting new places, and some but not many social situations.
I'm an amateur photographer with no interest in shooting videos (one of the so-called advantages of the Nikon). I see that the Pentax is slightly heavier and with less battery life than the Nikon (which may be a problem?), but in the end what I really would like to know is which one has better pictures in the end. Also, I don't thing the lower resolution of the Pentax is a problem, I don't think I need to crop pictures or printing "big" photos.
There many features on the Pentax that I really like (such as the Viewfinder and the weather sealed capability and image stabilization, but I really appreciate if you can help me understand which camera is best for me.
In short questions are:
- Is the additional weight (650g total) of the Pentax going to be a problem, if carrying the camera for some hours?
- Is the less megapixeis an issue if I don't intend to print larger photos?
- Are an external most simple possible cheap micro for the Pentax (in case I want one later)?
- Which one produces best photos in "normal (i.e., for example when shooting a building in the end of the afternoon) & automatic" conditions?
Note: for both I intend to use the standard original lens that the Amazon offers.
