40-150mm f/2.8 vs 75mm f/1.8

Being a prime shooter, I really want this lens but I'm unsure if I'll actually use it. I had the panny 35-100 for a couple months but then sold as I was unsure if I was suppose to walk forward or backward, or use the zoom. Lol

Whats your take on IQ vs the O75?

I have compared my images from both lenses (I own both). I can say without reservation that, at common apertures (f/2.8 - f/8) that the two lenses show no appreciable difference in image quality. That is one of the astounding qualities of this zoom. It delivers like a great prime.

The only real difference at f/2.8 is that the zoom is vignetting a bit, while the prime is not. As I stated in my review, that is truly a minor thing.

Another minor difference is that the photographer must be a bit more careful with background and background distance with the zoom. The bokeh (I still hate that term) of the 75mm is easier to manage.

I have no desire to part with either lens. They both have a place in my kit.
