If you could only take one prime for your apsc/crop?

Re: If you could only take one prime for your apsc/crop?

If I had to take only one it would be the EF 24mm f2.8 IS USM. This lens is still compact with a 58 mm filter and the IS allows for higher DOF or lower shutter speeds than would be achievable with the 24mm STM.

If I could have a few, they would be the 24mm STM, 24mm pancake, 50mm STM, and 85mm f1.8. Nice compact kit with an SL1.

For minimum size and cost, I would take the 24mm STM and 40mm or 50mm STM with an SL1 body.

It would be nice if Canon fitted the SL1 with in-body stabilization to take advantage of the pancakes/primes, but I am very enthusiastic about the IS on the regular 24, 28 and 35mm primes. They are brilliant. Keep it up Canon!

We need a 50mm f1.4 IS and 85mm f1.8 IS. Either both with 67mm filter threads to match the 35mm f2 IS, or perhaps better make the 50mm with a 58mm filter to match the 24mm (if the image quality doesn't suffer), and the 85mm with 67mm threads to match the 35mm f2 IS.
