LCD Dead Pixel and Focusing Screen Debris

For Christmas I received a SL1, my first SLR and it made my day. I instantly went out and began taking shots, it wasn't until the next day that I noticed a dead pixel in the display screen which became somewhat annoying but I felt I could live with it. Later I noticed while taking a sunset shot that there was quite a bit of dust in the viewfinder and when I looked closer it was actually quite bad. Thinking this was not the quality I should expect from Canon I exchanged it but spent some of my own money and went to the T6i. Again, I was anxious to start playing with it and sure enough I had almost the same problem. A single dead pixel in almost the same spot on the LCD display and although the picture through the viewfinder was much cleared there was one very noticeable piece of debris almost dead center of the image. Both of these cameras are brand new, not refurbished or anything of the sort. Should this just be expected and I am being too picky or am I just having some bad luck in my first days of SLR life?

Canon EOS Rebel SL1 (EOS 100D) Canon EOS Rebel T6i (EOS 750D / Kiss X8i)
