Hi Greg!

I have bought the original CANON soft carrying case, and though expensive (37 Euro/USD) I am pretty happy with it. It holds the S50, a spare battery and up to 2 spare CF cards, with the "tight fit" you are looking for.

I also like the soft, but still strong and protective material, and the belt loop which allows you to carry the camera horizontally or vertically on your belt. Also the zipper is made from plastic which should prevent scratches.

LowePro maes a very small case that fits the S-series very well. It's only $2.99 at B&H and comes with a shoulder strap, belt loop and drawstring top (no zippers to scratch anything. At the price, it's a steal. I have never seen this case anywhere other than B&H, though, and last time I looked for a friend, I could not find it on their web site.

Another great case is made by the unlikely company of Bennetton. Also found at B&H, this one is a very nice soft neoprene-like case, with a very sturdy belt loop and an extra pocket that allows you to carry an extra battery and compact flash card. This one was another dollar or two more, but it turns out that this is the case I carry my S30 around in most.

These two cases are by far the smallest, most snug-fitting cases I've found for the S-series (and I've looked at a bunch).

Hope this helps.

Regards,
Brian

Gregg,

I'm sorry, but I do not have numbers or links for either. The only place i have ever seen eitrher of these cases is B&H, so you might want to call them there. Both of these cases are available upstairs, in their used department (even though they are sold new), and not downstairs with most of their other cases. Hope that helps a little.

Brian
