A baker's dozen of my favourite shots from this year. Seems I did well with the macro. :D No roller derby stuff this time. I intentionally left them out.

Here's last years thread of the same.

Oh well, maybe I am too uncritical! I had to split mine into colour and B&W. Here are the colour ones :-)
Not even close to the subjects I take, but I know what I like and heck, I LOVE these. One of the best eyes (or two) for a shot I've seen. Very clever angles, leading lines and use of perspective. Exposures are bang on.

All the best Yaelle, top shooting there.

Danny.
Thank you Danny. I'm fine as long as there are no flowers, insects or birds in the frame :-D

That Kookie shot is excellent !! and so are all the shots you have posted Geoff. Even the ones I don't comment on, like the old shots you posted the other day from old cameras ;-) :-)

You show life how it actually is and you write things that I wish I could get out of my big gob, but somehow can't find the right words. Its always a pleasure to see what you are posting mate and writting, it really is a treat. So don't you dare change and you won't anyway.

All the best over there Geoff and thanks ..... well for just being you.

Danny.

Yes, it has been a tough year. But the kookaburra shot -- I love that too. Took the GX7 when visiting a friend in Melbourne who was looking at m43s with a particular interest in video. We were standing on his landing and the kookaburra was a regular visitor to the tree outside. Click!

I'm after a particular local bird here in the islands but can't even seem to see it let along get an opportunity to photograph it.

Your favorite Yaelle is a fellow inmate of this forum, also in Melbourne, whose name I have instantly forgotten the moment I went to write it. He's a mate of John King, also of this forum, and all three of us went to the National Gallery of Victoria's space in the city square to see cars and innovative art.

That is one heck of a lightning display and result there Martin. The best I've ever seen and then some.

The E-M10 with the Canon 500 and 800mm lenses. Learn't a heck of a lot about the m4/3 sensor in the Oly this year. No need to replace it anytime soon. Very hard to pick favourites, but a few of them I guess over the last year.

All good very nice compositions and technically on the ball, but that water lily pic came as a total visual surprise to me. Wonderful work!

Great choices - I've enjoyed all your photos through the year :-) The flamenco dancer is a 'wow' I don't remember seeing that before.

Thanks - the flamenco was one of the highlights of the Spain trip. I think I posted it while you were otherwise occupied. Here's another from that evening.

In fact, outstandingly outstanding! I've seen some great shots of yours as you have shown them from time to time, but this set is downright mastery -- just so good.

Thanks for showing your wonderful work which is an inspiration to me -- and to lots of others, I am sure, even if we are not photographing in the same field.

That first picture is simply wonderful -- it sets the bar high and the following pix maintain the standard.

When you set the standard so high, like you continuously do, you can only disappoint. You would think.....Excellent results, Danny..

A collective well done to everybody, there is some very good work in this thread.

Some were pictures I was pleased to see again, others are new to me.

Thank you, Geoff. It seems we both had odd years, but I always enjoy seeing your work and getting glimpses of a very different life on the other side of the world.

All good, but the first one is really excellent. We can see many of such shots but rarely are the well composed with foregrounds that give depth. The wayyou pointed it with the rotational center just above the horizon and right of the middle gives a great depth with the trees to the left. Really some of the of such shots I have ever seen, with a very nice clarity also.
Thanks Jorge. Your comments are especially encouraging and meaningful after viewing your awesome contributions elsewhere in this thread.
