Re: Copying RAW/JPEGs from Fuji X cameras to Galaxy Tab S or Note 4 questions?

I will be interested to hear if you sucessfully copy to the external drive, and if so which drive you use. Do you mean that your Galaxy tab has a full size usb connection slot, in addition to the micro usb connection?
No, the Tab S and Note 4 have a MicroUSB connection slot only. But Samsung makes an OTG connector cable. One end has a male MicroUSB connector to plug into the Note 4 or Tab S and the other end has a female USB 3.0/2.0 connector so you can connect USB devices. I have a Startech OTG connector and it doesn't work, so I'm assuming it's defective. Sometimes you get what you pay for. I'm also looking at a MicroUSB card reader that is designed to work with Android devices. It reads SD and MicroSD cards, Has a USB 3.0/2.0 OTG port, and a female MicroUSB but I don't know why you want to use that.
I've come down to three external drives that should allow me to copy any files from the Note 4 or Tab S. and also talk to my iMac when I get home.
- Samsung 128GB jumpdrive with a MicroUSB connector at one end and a USB 3.0/2.0 connector at the other. $40.
- Samsung 256GB SSD USB 3.0/2.0. $100
- Transcend or Seagate 1TB HDD USB 3.0/2.0 $55/$60
The SSD and both HDDs are about the size of a playing card and around a half inch thick. Any of them would give me more than enough storage memory for my trip. My only concern about the jumpdrive is that it is so small, it would be easy to lose and I've done that before. When I get everything in, I'll gladly post the results.
