There really seems to be no point at all in having that Panasonic menu item. Not trying to be a smartie, just really curious why they included it.

You're right. It's kind of pointless having it, since there's no need to ever disable it, even if you never use manual or adapted lenses.

Fujis have exactly the same menu item. I haven't worked out why.
