Here’s the setup of the bench

I had designed the bench such that I can adjust the table( glass pain) level to the focus plain ( that’s the 3 loop bolts are for) they will move a glass pain by tilting it. I used sugar grains to setup the level of the table prior to going out and shooting. Not shown here is a future macro rail (Christmas gift) that will aid in setting up the focus and setup distance to the subjects.

First I lowered the equipment below freezing so that none of the radiant heat will melt the flakes, that includes the lens as I have found that it will start to melt the flakes within seconds.

The flakes are captured on used lens filters during the snow fall and taken to the bench
