I've made lots of money selling Pentax equipment, I suspect your going about it wrong.

Take the lens your considering 'double down' on I guess your doing this in he belief you can get some choice and recover your costs

I don't know the US market but for the UK a quick look at that 50 shows

New price inc 2years warranty £90

Standard depreciation and lack of warranty make 2nd hand top end £30

As its a prime which usualy attract more differentiating purchases your trying to sell a low quality prime at £30 to a market that want hi IQ prime at reasonable cost

Hence you will only attract buyers on price hence no profit margin.

Look at the 18-55 dal approx £70 unboxed I paid £15 new inc 2year warranty (ergo zero value)

My point isn't what great bargains I can get but rather these types of lens are made to have very low manufacturing costs so they can be given away in bundles.

As the're new cost is so low there is no margin for them as 2nd hand items.

They are a good as first user lens but have no market value as 2nd hand items.

You are used to Pentax resale. A Canon 50mm 1.8 can be sold at 90% its street price. My Pentax 50mm DA 1.8 despite being better in IQ on APS-C in some ways can not be sold at 90% despite being a great lens at a great street price. That is a clear Canikon market advantage. I hope Pentax FF gives Pentax a boost in some regards. I am talking craigslist local sale near major metropolitans in US. I understand I can get a bit better than trade in value on eBay. Problem is the packaging box I got from Adorama is beat to hell. Adorama did this to me on the Canon too so I am sticking with b&h. Canonikon gear it is throwing money away doing trade in. Pentax I am considering trade in but will try eBay first. Can not complain too much as it was $20 bundle.

Pentax is hard to sell used. Trying to sell my K3/18-135 and Pentax grip for about a month now for $825 on Amazon, Ebay and CL with no interest. The fact that it only has about 80 shutter clicks seems not to matter. I guess I will have to start using it more than my D7200, not willing to give it away.

Well as you can buy K3+fgz210 flash + 50mm for $650 you need to adjust you price to something realistic to sell.

you'd have better look separated as the 18-135 has more value than the body but even so they are not worth more than $500

A new 18-135 Inc warranty is currently $360

Like I said, not giving it away. For $500 that is what I would be doing. If not sold in the next 8 days on ebay I will keep it. I like the camera just not using because of to many to pick from. Pentax low prices are killing it for used sellers.

You can get a lot for less money new with warranty so why would anyone purchase your offering ?

You need to look what the going rate for your equipment is new and adjust you price accordingly you cannot expect to get a taker when your asking more than the new price.

Good job on the sale, its good to see that eventually you can get things sold. Selling near black friday is very hard, it typically picks up months after. Is this Craigslist or eBay?

ebay, I had it on Amazon for a couple weeks with no luck. It took 12 days on ebay. Hard to sell this time of the year because of Christmas shopping for the kids. I just put my lenses on Amazon so wait and see. I felt a little sad selling it but it did not get used enough to keep it.
