Close to buying M3 as my "only" camera

I would appreciate some pre-purchase advice from the group!

I am considering purchasing a M3 perhaps with the 2 lens kit, from a local camera shop tomorrow, although i am in no hurry to buy. It would be my only camera, except for an iPhone 6 (company phone) and two iPad Air 2s, with their picture/video capability.

I would be using it for family pics (including one granddaughter and a grandchild on the way), but also travel related photography. My main hobby is amateur astronomy, so if I may try to take some night sky pictures when I am at a star party or two.

With that background, would you consider the M3 as your "only" camera? I almost purchased a SL1, but would prefer smaller knowing that I will likely use it more often. A Sony A6000 doesn't have a touchscreen, which would help me with adjusting focus, and I don't like its menu system.

My budget is more in the M10 range, but I am wiling to push the budget if the picture quality would be better.

Thanks in advance for any comments.

(my prior cameras were a Canon XTi and a Canon SD4000IS. both were traded in already).
