perhaps they are afraid that a sufficiently good product could harm sales of incoming products for years. For example, think if NX1 could do 6.5k video recording. Who would buy a new camera in the next few years?

Of course, if Samsung really decides to pull the plug to nx, they could release a SDK version of the fw, but I still think it's unlikely.

p.s.: samsung released the sdk to create PC software to remotely control NX cameras. Nobody - and I underline nobody - did anything with it. Not video related, but they could try to make a focus bracketing sw, which should be easily possible, considering that there is a command, in the SDK, to move focus in discrete steps.
