Some photo's I took recently of a Lace Monitor or Lace Goanna as some may call it. It was about 1.5 metres long and my 4 year old's first encounter with such a reptile. He was very excited by it and asked if it could eat us. As a good daddy I said to him "yes, if your naughty or noisy today when I try to photograph it it may eat you"
Anyway he learned not to get to close and I told him that a bite from it could be very nasty if untreated. He learned his safety lesson for the day and know he knows what to do or not to do around this reptile just like he knows not to go near or disturb snakes etc. He was so interested when I told him this guy eats snakes, carion, birds, eggs etc without much fear of snake venom as it's pretty immune to poisonous snakes and eats them regulary.

I took a lot more photo's of it later in action but that's for another days post.

Enjoy!
