Re: Help! Canon EOS 1200D

I hope that you will find this helpful

1. Select manual mode on the dial

2. Now you will have to select the settings of Exposure time, Aperture and ISO, manually. You will also have to select the timer mode.

3. For taking a picture of the night sky with trees or a building you can try the following settings

Exposure time 20 seconds, F 3.5, ISO 1600 and set timer at 10 seconds.

4. If you want to focus the stars first you will have to focus on some torch at lest at a 20 feet in distance in auto focus  in live view mode. ( in the screen ) After you focused it switch to manual focus. by switching on the MF mode on the lens.

5.Now point at the stars and press the shutter button wait until the picture is lit up on the screen after the capture.

A tripod is a must i presume you are using a kit lens so keep it at 18 mm and 3.5 aperture. I just bought my 1200d a week ago managed to take some pics of the night will share with you later today.
