It is only for Merrill. It has been discussed at length in this forum. As far as I know, it can be avoided if you use portrait mode. This was not the case from the beginning, and portraits were then not generally its strength.

To avoid a dispute developing I noticed Amazon are selling a Pentax 645 format digital camera for under £4k, that includes a basic lens. A good big one and all that.

Thats the old one. The 645z is better. But, the old one is very good also. So, if you think it is OK to lug around a medium format, then it is probably a good choice.
