Smog? Surely the smog eases off once the train is outside the urban area?

Rode both the MagLev and CRH 380A. After an accident a few years ago, Government forces top speed of 350 for CRH.

No, the smog literally blanket the entire country around the rail lines, not just urban area. I traveled from Shanghai to Beijing and then Beijing to Qingdao (used to be the pretty beach vacation destination) last summer. The smog is everywhere, even in the beach city.
