Both f1.8 and "macro" mode have their benefits individually, but that doesn't necessarily mean it will work great to use them both together.

The picture is from a DOF calculator. F1,8 24mm wide distance 5 cm you only get a DOF of 1mm!!!! chard Daugaard

If you choose F11, it helps a bit, the DOF increases to 9 mm, still not much, but better. With F 1,8 nearly nothing is sharp. Sincerely Holger Daugaard
