Nikon vs. third party

I am wondering about how much difference there is between the quality of Nikon lenses and lenses made by Tamron and Sigma. For instance, would the Tamron 15-30mm 2.8 give the Nikon 14-24 a run for it's money? Could it even be better in some ways. I have a D800, but I don't have a ton of money to spend on lenses. I would like to get a wide angle or mid-range zoom such as 14-24 or 24-70. I would also like a super-telephoto zoom such as the Nikon 200-500 5.6 or the Tamron/Sigma 150-600 5-6.3. I would like to get the best possible quality for the cheapest cost, but price will be the ultimate deciding factor. I currently have a Nikon 50mm 1.8G and a Tamron 70-200 2.8 (the one without vc-I'll upgrade later). Any suggestions as to what I should go for?
