I got the 12-32mm Mega OIS lens for my G7. When I have the Mega OIS on the images are not stabalized, when I turn it off it is stabalized...Any ideas?
.
12-32 has no OIS switch and the stabilization has to be controlled by the camera body. Do you sure you have stabilization be enable in your G7?
What is the meaning of "OIS on the image"? Did you see a signal of "red shaking hand" on the upper right corner of evf/LCD? if so, it represented either OIS=OFF, or the shutter speed you'd chose would be out of OIS' range.
Hi Albert, what I meant by no "OIS on the image" is just that its blury. When the OIS is turned on, the images are blurry, but when the OIS is off, no blur.
Try turning on the electronic shutter (or silent mode, which will also automatically enable the e-shutter, but will additionally turn off beeps, AF illuminator etc.). You might find that things then look OK. Let us know - explanation later!
OIS works perfectly on my 12-35 f2.8 lens. Was somewhat disappointed that images with OIS turned on via G7 doesn't seem to work on this lens.
I put it on my Olympus EM1 with IBIS and the images are fine.
I can only assume it has to do with G7 and this lens (although Panasonic say that they are compatible).
I've also tested eShutter to see if it's shutter shock related... Doesn't make a difference. I can only get a clean shoot when I turn off OIS.
All tests were done at 1/60 and 1/125 shutter speeds... Which are pretty adequate to get a clear shot.
I am unsure if there is a solution?
Were we talking about 12-32 f/3.5-5.6 or 12-35 f/2.8? Or both lenses have similar issue on G7? I assume you know you are suspecting the compatibility issue of Panny lens on Panny camera?
Would you try to disable the IBIS of EM1 and use OIS only of your Panny lens(es) to verify OIS be OK?
