Still loving my white Pentax K-50 especially with the 35mm f2.4 AL

I took these while driving. I drive an EV vehicle so while stopping there is really no vibration from the combustion engine ;p.

Full 16MP shots to compare against the Fuji 35mm f2. IMO the Pentax 35mm f2.4 does just fine. I do add modest sharpening only to counteract the aliasing filter. This is what I always do, and that is how aliasing filters are supposed to work to reduce moire, so if you don't like USM sharpening, deal with it. I see no point to compare AA filtered sensors to AA-less ones unless some USM sharpening is applied. Either way no amount of USM sharpening fixes soggy spots in the lens.

Lots of little details here as the windows reflects details although warped from the street.

Blind fired this one, came out ok.

A more 3 dimensional image, but again sharp from corner to corner for what is in DOF.

The field curvature I would describe as being concave from the viewpoint of the shooter. I actually prefer this to some Canon lenses that have convex field curvature as I think it creates for a more cohesive image in DOF overall. I'm also surprised at how much I get within DOF. Definitely do not remember my 50mm on a 6D doing this even stopped down to f4.

This full size sample is my favorite in demonstrating this lens wide open.

Just sold my Canon 50mm 1.4 today in part because I think this Pentax K-50 + 35mm f2.4 hits a sweet spot for me in portability and quality + dynamic range (I am picking up the cheapie Canon 50mm 1.8 STM however cause it was on black friday sale). The specular highlight bokeh remains roundish in the corner while in this sample on the upper right -

You can see the specular highlight bokeh turning into arrowheads. Granted there is some outlining, but over all that $399 Fuji lens is pretty much the cost of the Pentax K-50 + the prime.

And I'm not really showing my best shots either of this lens which are of family.
