I can work Google well enough, but I find a lot of the claims around card speeds disingenuous.

I don't have the G7, but am interested in what other have to say. I agree that the continuous write speed is what matters, not the (peak only?) read speed that is always used by the manufacturers and resellers.

This review by imaging resourc says the UHS-II card it tested was worse than the UHS-I card it tested. So you might be better off with "slower" UHS-I cards, including the one you have. Tests like this one make me think Panasonic is over stating the camera's UHS-II ability. Though I have to say I haven't seen Panasonic say anything but "UHS-II compatible", so it may be reviews/resellers/users who don't test it that misclaim (or are mislead to say) UHS-II speeds.

Also, one correction to the OP. The card you have is 100MB/s read, 8x faster than 100Mb/s that you state (100MB/s = 100 megabytes/s = 8 * 100 megabits/s = 800Mb/s), and claims 65MB/s write. Your card is also U3 certified, so it can continuously write continuously at a minimum of 30MB/s, less than the claimed 65MB/s (which might be a peak rate). The G7 has a max video bitrate of 100Mb/s (or 12.5MB/s byterate).

And yes I agree the eight times difference between one letter being capital vs small is bad for communication. Just to be clear, "MB" is supposed to be used to mean megabytes, and "Mb" and "mb" are supposed to mean megabits.
