I went on a CPS day shooting 5DSR a few weeks ago. Canon brought along 17mm and 24mm TS-E lenses, and certainly recommend them. I shot with the 24mm one, which was great.

As to a lens not keeping up with a camera's resolving power, that sort of statement is generally made by someone with little understanding of how resolution actually works - it's a couple of lens and recording medium (sensor or film). A given lens will resolve more on a higher res sensor, and a lens with more resolving power will resolve more than a lesser lens on a given sensor.

Thus your TS-E will perform better on a 5DSR than it does on your current camera - what it might possibly not do is produce the highest possible resolution.

Personally, I've found Mr Kilpatrick's grasp of facts to be slightly weak on several occasions. At least Ken Rockwell is entertaining...
