Re: worth to upgrade from K50 to K3II ?

Well, I would like to leave some feedback about the camera upgrade.

So far I'm very happy with the K3II, love the features and focusing capabilities.

Also the larger pixels amount allows me to do greater crops than with the K50.

The the amount of noise in the shots is very low, on par or better I would said than the K50.

The camera response is excellent, the built is outstanding IMHO.

It feels very solid and perfect to my hands, the grip is just perfect.

Controls/buttons disposition is great too.

GPS does not consume much battery and you can leave it on for a day without issues.

I just calibrated the camera GPS once and never again had to adjust it. GPS was perfectly able to track even inside a plane, and very accurately. At some point it indicated 9993 meters altitude while the plane was in cruise which is the cruising altitude.

Just be aware that if you leave GPS on for several days you can reach the point in which it drains all the battery and I seriously mean all, then when you put the battery to charge the charger will blink as if the battery was faulty. Just leave it charging and after a while the led will be on and no more blinking. I recommend to shut down the gps after photography excursion ends.

The lack of flash seems to be a bit something i missed for fill in and remote shutting but to be honest I almost never used it on the K50, I preferred much more the FGZ360 which is a way more powerful tool and allows plenty of things for instance high speed shots!. I will acquire a radio for remote shutting and maybe sometime a AF201FG which seems to be very handy.

Here you can see some shots done with the K3II, even using astrotracer.

I have bought a tripod recently so I will be testing astrotracer and pixel shift a bit more.

So far... loving it.

( I hope this post helps someone in the same situation I was. )
