Re: The Samsung scenario - ponderings and/or recommendations
I did but it is not an old complaint but a symptom of why things failed and how it has been building up over a long period. A lot of people on this forum have never owned anything but NX and trying to discuss what is going on in terms of NX only is rather pointless. It is probably the collapse of their compact sales that is really driving things and NX was probably at best a prestige loss leader anyhow.
I also would be a candidate for an EX3 if it ever came out so still have an interest in Samsung. I have been a long time user of Samsung going back to the WB2000 and unlike many people am sad to see Samsung leaving the camera business rather than just the NX business.
Edit: The WB2000 is a good example of how Samsung did not market their technical advances as when the Olympus SZ30MR came out it was treated by the reviewers as the first camera that could seamlessly capture stills without interrupting video. This surprised me as I had been doing this on my WB2000 for 6 months before the Olympus came out, but you cannot blame the reviewers because, then as now, Samsung was not talking to the outside world.
This is a ponderings on what is happening with Samsung and the NX ownership of this forum does make it difficult to get a complete picture.

Everyone is looking at NX but the inadequate firmware in the EX2f which completely ignored previous complaints about the EX1 showed that they were not really putting their all in to things. It was a gorgeous camera and just failed on zero investment in the firmware which has always been their achilles heel. The posts about battery pulls to reset has always been higher in this forum than any other and matches my experience.
I know you will all
I thought you posted that you sold your Samsung gear.
Why are you here digging up old complaints?
say how the NX1 has had such a great firmware support but you cannot just put it in to one camera.

Pal, I would love to , want to embrace your optimistic approach, but well Samsung themselves seems otherwise though .. the local store here can't even made a decent lot of bodies or lens available for test drive even though we have a Samsung ( the actual Samsung , not distributor ) service office here as well as sales and marketing branch office.
I wager Samsung did pretty lousy on the NX marketing , that's true, but also I wager Samsung had made some critical engineering blunder along the way from day 1 they introduce NX lineup and its only now that with the NX-1 and the relatively ecent introduction of the 2 top end Zoom that start to alleviate the issue and its sort of a too little too late and not matched with proper market intro and marketing effort.
