Sharper than expected.

I recently bought a couple of used EOS bodies, 5D and 5D Mk-II, and among the first lenses I added was one of these, from an eBay seller who had a fairly large quantity of this model available, all at bargain prices. Mine is very good condition, relatively flimsy front focusing flange, but it focuses fast in good light and is amazingly sharp except at the extreme edges. It outperforms the 28-105 f3.5-4.5 in sharpness, even in the middle, although I still use the longer lens on occasion, when I feel the need for the extra 15mm. This 28-90 is my do-all lens, being light and compact along with that great sharpness. My most recent lens acquisition is a 24-70 f4 L, which I keep on one of the cameras, and its sharpness is the best I have, but I keep the 28-90 handy for when the 70mm is not long enough - which is pretty often.
