Re: Mobile RAW Workflow

Hi there,

Interested in setting up a fully mobile RAW editing workflow without having to run through a computer. Am currently using the following:

Sony A6000 & LG G4

I shoot raw (ARW files) on my Sony A6000 with a microSD card and can insert into my LG G4.

Since the LG G4 can read DNG files, I should be able to convert the ARW files to DNG (using raw2dng), edit then export as JPEG all while still on the phone... no?

Yes, should work. Three additional comments:

1) If you're a Lightroom on the desktop user, you could consider using Lightroom mobile for editing with the additional benefit of everything (DNGs and edits) syncing back to your desktop.

2) You might want to apply a DCP-file during DNG-conversion, since the app won't know your camera's colour profile. Not a huge difference though.

3) While I haven't tested it with the A6000, raw2dng (I'm the author) supports Sony's Wifi-transfer, so you shouldn't even have to switch your microSD card. (future version will further simplify the setup soon)
