Today there are no principal obstacles to amateur 3d-stereo photography, since the viewing problem is resolved.
Recently I shot 10 rolls of negatives with a vintage TDC Colorist 2 stero-camera, digitized the images and processed with StereoPhotoMaker.

I showed the results to numerous people using the following 3 methods, all were praised, even by those who won't ever consider shooting with anything but a phone:
1) Passive full-hd 3d TV. I was surprised myself by how good it looked, despite presumably too low a resolution. And it wins in the viewing comfort of course.
2) The two foldable Loreo viewers (mini- and pixi-) with high resolution tablets/laptops. One was 10-inch 2560:1600, another - 3200:1800. Frankly the viewers liked this method the least.
3) Phone-based VR glasses with high-resolution smartphone. This is the most spectacular. If you have a 2560:1440 phone, you will be thrilled. More or less it is equivalent to the classic stereoscope.

so as to me, everything is ready for the comeback of a serious stereocamera.
