Hi all,

I've owned the 70-200 f/2.8 IS II so I'm aware of its capabilities. I'm just wondering - is the IS on the f/4 as good and/or quiet as that of its bigger brother?

I know the f/4 IS is 5 years older than the 2.8 IS II so I presume that the 2.8's IS is a newer design(?), but my interest is to use it for video, not photos.

Those of you who own the f/4 IS, have you had any problems using it for video? I know that the 2.8 IS II was super smooth - and especially useful when on a tripod to cancel out any tiny shakes due to small tripod movement in windy conditions etc. Is the f/4 IS good for this too?

Never used it for video and I own the f/4 and have used the f/2.8II. The f/4 has a noisy (but very efficient) IS. I would say that the IS effect is at least as good as with the f/2.8 II but I can hear it all the time.
