I must agree, the Nikon entry SLR's with 1 wheel is quite frustrating and a long learning curve. While having 2 wheels on the K-50 and customizable makes it very user friendly and very easy to set what you want the camera to do. I bought the K-50 as my 1st DSLR ever and absolutely love it. The buttons are well placed, the 2 wheels makes life easy and user interface is very easy to use. I went on to use a manual focus lens but soon began to make use of the Focus points and indicators in the View Finder. When it beeps and shows the little square, that's when I snap. The fact that you can use any K mount lens available is a HUGE bonus. A mirrorless camera is exactly the same as a DSLR but without the mirror and Optical View Finder. The usability will be the same. So my advice is Keep, get something like an 18-250mm Sigma or Tamron 18-270mm and use that. Great all rounder lenses with AF and MF.

I agree.

The Pentax DA 18-135 is also a very nice jack of all trades lens, compact, weather resistant and built like a tank, with a very responsive silent AF.
