Charles2, unfortunately I can see some purple and green zones also in your efforts... maybe is only me, my monitor, my eyes... (the problem is that I like a lot the under-exposed images, then when I work in LR5 to under-expose the problem becomes more evident)

You might want to try this. I believe it will give you insight into the situation. Download the donation-only program Raw Therapee; open a TIFF file; use neutral settings and check on the Color tab that the output color space is what you want, Adobe RGB or sRGB; go to the Lab-a curve on the Exposure tab (Lab-a controls green and magenta) and apply a slightly inverted S-curve. Better? (If you have access to the Lab-a curve in another program, you can try it there.)

I gave it a shot, not knowing if Claudio has RT or not:

I tried RT for processing X-trans files but I don't understand at all a lot of controls

anyway, I used a much less pronounced curve, it improves a little bit the problem of purple in the clouds, but, as I said, it clearly affects the whole photo and this is problematic.

Yes, I should have mentioned that the above image was from a Merrill opened directly in RT 4.2.222 and the curve showed no sign of helping. I think Charles intended the curve to help a TIFF export out of SPP.

As to L*a*b*, it is quite a special color model and needs a lot of study before becoming comfortable with.

And, as you say, all that green in a big band at left but just the patch of cloud at top right is not going to get fixed by anything global, i.e. affects the whole image.
