Re: Newer equivalent to the 330 HS

Stop by Canon's refurbed site once in a while.  They are out of stock right now; but 330HS do show up.  I bought mine for $79.99 (I just couldn't pass that up) and added a Flip-bac stick on grip.  I've had very good luck with Canon refurbs.  They come with a 1 year warranty, and all the manuals, cords, media, etc are included.  Current price is listed at $161.99; but their prices go up and down like a yo-yo.

Terrific little camera!  f/3 at 24 mm; but f/6.5 @ 240.  12 MP - later models have a longer zoom range, slower lenses, and a lot more pixels - good for advertising, bad for images.

I've had a bunch of Powershots, including most of your list.  What else is there that could stand in for the 330HS?  Not much that's newer unless you want to get into a newer series with a larger sensor.  I'm still using an S95 as I haven't seen anything newer I like better.  I liked the SD850 IS, SD870IS, and especially, the SD950IS with a very good lens and the same 1/1.7" sensor as the G9, but a limited 36-133 mm range.

You might also look for an SD4000HS.  f/2 at wide.  Doesn't make your 10x zoom range, though.
