It does look a good camera.

These are the main 'cons ' I see regularly obviously offset against its many virtues...

1/50 flash sync speed. 1/500 sec max mechanical shutter speed. Controls (allegedly - don't own one) quite fiddly, EVF small compared to the versions in the larger cameras.

The complaints about controls being fiddly are directed at the GM1.  Some people seem never to be able to come to grips with them.  I did (after a while and a little patience) now I quite like the intuitive way that the GM1 works.  On the other hand the ratchetty wheel of the GM5 might suit those that like to poke rather than caress quite well but it is ergonomically divorced from the location of the 4-way controller and this loses the advantage of the multi-funtion wheel of the GM1 which needs minimal movement by the thumb for all necessary procedures.

Panasonic perhaps should have taken a lesson from Ricoh's late R and CX series camera where the centre button on the multi-function wheel was a clickable short joy-stick.  This was a perfect directional control system with joy-stick for direction and click to set and a wheel surrounding for jst what a wheel does best. Hardly a whisper of thumb movement required and all done by touch-feel.
